Motorsport personality and Miss Tourism World NZ challenge for outright win in a second Civic Hybrid
Honda New Zealand has entered a second Civic petrol-electric hybrid in EnergyWse Rally 2004. It will be crewed by Grant Aitken, promoter of the famous ‘Race to the Sky’ hillclimb event and a former race and rally champion. In the co-drivers’ seat will be the recently crowned Miss Tourism World New Zealand, Nadia Goldbert of Rotorua.
Grant, who was in a tie for a class win in the 2002 event, is a keen Honda owner and is enthusiastic about the future of hybrid technology. He and Nadia are looking forward to taking the battle to the other competitors.
Honda New Zealand is making a major commitment to the event. “With the effect of cars on the environment becoming more of an issue day by day, it’s up to car manufacturers to maximise their commitment to supplying environmentally-sensitive technology,” said Graeme Meyer, Marketing Manager of Honda New Zealand. “EnergyWise Rally 2004 is the ideal opportunity to demonstrate the benefit of new motor vehicles with the latest technology right here on New Zealand roads, rather than in a laboratory on the other side of the world.”
On November 2, the cars will set off on a testing indirect route from Auckland to Wellington and back, returning on November 5. Find out more at www.energywiserally.org.nz
