IBM today announced that New Zealand Managing Director, Nick Lambert, has been promoted into an Asia Pacific role as Director iSeries, IBM Systems & Technology Group after four and a half years in his current role. He will be based in Shanghai, China.
Mr Lambert will be replaced as Managing Director of IBM New Zealand by Katrina Troughton, who is currently General Manager for IBM's software business across Australia and New Zealand. Both appointments are effective immediately.
'IBM New Zealand's turnaround over the past four years is testament to the achievements of the team and I am immensely proud of them. On a personal note, my time as Managing Director of IBM New Zealand has been the most rewarding of my career,' Mr Lambert said.
Ms Troughton said she was delighted to be returning to New Zealand.
'IBM New Zealand is in a strong position, and I am looking forward to working with the IBM team and our clients to grow the business further. We have a talented team in New Zealand who are able to leverage the strength of IBM's global offerings by customising and delivering solutions to meet our clients' requirements locally,' Ms Troughton said.
Ms Troughton, who is currently based in Sydney, was appointed to her current role in January 2002. Prior to this, she held positions as Business Unit Executive for Data Management across Asia Pacific for four years and as New Zealand Software Manager for four years. Ms Troughton was born and educated in New Zealand and has degrees in Science and Commerce from Auckland University, with majors in Physiology, Pharmacology and Economics. She also has a post graduate diploma in Health Economics and a diploma in Direct Marketing.
