Trend Micro Launches New Incubation Organisation
Global Team Focuses on Development of Emerging Internet Security Technologies to Continue History of Innovation
Trend Micro, Inc., a leader in network antivirus and Internet content security software and services, has announced the creation of its Incubation organisation, headed up by Raimund Genes, President of European Operations.
The organisation will focus on taking new Internet security technologies to market and help ensure that Trend Micro is proactively developing solutions to help customers to deal with current and future Internet security threats. The formation of this organisation is the latest initiative from Trend Micro to continue its long-standing tradition of innovation.
Made up of senior product specialists and marketers from around the world, the organisation benefits from a truly global perspective of forthcoming market requirements for antivirus and Internet content security solutions.
Through the organisation, Trend Micro will be able to focus on emerging market segments and security technologies that deal with prospective threats, while its worldwide sales and support organisation continues to provide Trend Micro’s core technology and business strategies for corporate, small-medium business and home users.
Steve Chang, CEO and Founder of Trend Micro said, “Internet security solutions providers constantly need to evolve. It is the nature of our business, where we are required to provide new solutions to deal with emerging threats and changing market requirements. Trend Micro’s new Incubation organisation will allow us to explore many new areas and new technologies to deal with tomorrow’s threats.”
A history of innovation
In 1995 Trend Micro
became an industry pioneer in the migration of virus
protection from the desktop to the server level, with the
launch of Trend Micro ServerProtect. In 1997 it launched
the industry’s first virus protection for the Internet
gateway with InterScan VirusWall. Since then, it has
demonstrated a history of innovation in server-based
antivirus products that has contributed to the leadership
position it holds today in this market (according to the
recent IDC report “Worldwide Antivirus 2004-2008 Forecast
and 2003 Competitive Vendor Shares.”).
Trend Micro New Zealand regional manager Damian Thompson says the formation of this organisation shows the company’s commitment to shifting the paradigms of antivirus security with cutting-edge products, services and strategies, such as Trend Micro Network VirusWall, Outbreak Prevention Services, and its Enterprise Protection Strategy.
“Trend Micro is committed to following its path of innovation to help companies manage today’s ever-increasingly complex, fast-spreading malware threats.”
