New Satire Site Makes Us All Laugh, Be
Judgmental
http://www.ultimatejudgment.com
They say the internet is making us all more stupid. UltimateJudgment.com, a new satirical website launched today, is a hilarious example. UltimateJudgment.com invites users to become part of a new moral majority by rating things, ideas and people as either "GOOD" or "EVIL". It's a weirdly compelling concept. Terrorists - Good or Evil? Reality TV - Good or Evil? Women - Good or Evil?
It's funny. Site Developer Dave Forward explains his lofty motivations: "Throughout human history, people have held differing opinions. It's confusing and complicated, and has caused arguments and even wars. During brainstorming sessions we soon discovered that every complex argument really comes to down to a simple choice between good and evil. If we can just establish what's Good and what's Evil by a fair and democratic vote, then there'll be no more room for of these differing opinions. We'll have the absolute and final democratic judgment."
The site offers more than the simple judging of pictures. It also allows users to view "evidence" photos for each side of the case. (The evidence that "Bert" is Evil is particularly entertaining - http://www.ultimatejudgment.com/bert/evidence . In true internet satire style, there's also plenty of opportunity for arguments between users. "We want to make the democratic process accessible to everyone," says Forward. "Not all of us can think - but we all have a right to judge."
"In this age of extreme terror, it's so important to remind people that every complex judgment just boils down to a simple choice between "Good" and "Evil". We believe that our current political process doesn't simplify things enough. We're giving people the ultimate moral satisfaction. With UltimateJudgment.com, the Day of Judgment has finally arrived!"
