Karori Wildlife Sanctuary Open Day 25/06/05

Located only minutes from downtown Wellington, Karori Wildlife Sanctuary is a unique conservation attraction where you can step back in time, experience a slice of New Zealand’s natural heritage and enjoy the peaceful scenic surroundings. Numerous rare and endangered species have been released inside, such as the little spotted kiwi, saddleback, kaka and stitchbird. Other attractions include a scenic boat ride on the lower lake, two unique historic dams, historical buildings, Morning Star goldmine, bird feeding stations, bird cameras and much more.
The Sanctuary is holding an Open Day on Saturday 25 June 2005 and everyone is welcome. Entry to the Sanctuary on the day will be just a gold coin donation. So if you haven't been to the Sanctuary before or you would like to see what’s new since your last visit then make sure you go along. Open from 10am to 5pm with last entry at 4pm. End of Waiapu Road, Karori, Wellington.
