Scion appoints new Chief Financial Officer

Scion Chief Executive Officer, Dr Tom Richardson today announced the appointment of Mr Lionel Jeyaraj as its new Chief Financial Officer and Corporate Services Manager.

Malaysian born and educated in the United Kingdom, Mr Jeyaraj has 25 years of extensive domestic and international business experience encompassing research, telecommunications, information technology, financial services, gaming, leisure, internal and public auditing, education and medical areas.

“We are very pleased that we have been able to attract a new team member of exceptional calibre to the organisation”, Dr Richardson said.

“Lionel’s technical skills and professional interests will be a tremendous asset to Scion as we develop strategic partnerships beyond Rotorua and New Zealand”.

Prior to joining Scion, Lionel was CFO and Asset Manager of Incite Capital, a venture capital organisation focused on IT, education and medical organisations.

His experience includes assignments with NCR in the Asia Pacific, Europe, the Middle East and Africa, AT&T South Pacific, and Aristocrat Ltd.

Lionel took up the position on 1 August.
