Companies Office celebrates 10 years online

The Companies Office unveiled its new-look website today - www.companies.govt.nz , which coincides with its 10th online birthday celebrations.

Group Manager of Business Registries, Justin Hygate, says the fresh website is the result of extensive client consultation.

“Clients have asked for a website containing more information on running a business and on the steps people need to take to remove a company from the website.

“A lot has changed in the past 10 years and modernising the website enables the Companies Office to take advantage of the new technology available.”

While the revamped website will continue to be the primary provider of company incorporations and searches, it will also act as a resource for anyone intending to start up a business.

Changes to the website include:
• More information on conducting business in New Zealand and overseas, planning, tax and directors’ obligations
• Information on resources available to small businesses
• Improved navigation options
• Better searching functionality
• Wider range of customer support services
• Helpful links to other sites containing relevant and specialised information.

Justin Hygate says the depth of information available will add value to the New Zealand business community and the new look and feel of the website will allow for a more interactive online experience.

“This, in conjunction with our work with the Biz Information Portal (www.biz.org.nz), ensures that the New Zealand Business Community will receive the best possible tools to make critical business decisions.”
