Best Summer Weather – Not Until March, Says Forecaster Predict Weather

The real summer of 2006-07 is still sometime away, according to long range forecaster Predictweather.com.

Predictweather’s Ken Ring of Auckland said today the best stretch of summer will be a long in arriving, not until March.

``With cyclonic low pressure systems expected in the second and third weeks of January and one in February, long fine spells of more than a week will not arrive until January 20 and then again after the third week of February.

``The best holiday weather, especially in the Hawke’s Bay and Marlborough, should be in March,’’ ring predicted.

Ring correctly forecast last year's June 12 cold wintry blast in his Predict Weather Almanac and he has again been correct with his forecasts for the new year.

The summer's wet, cloudy weather has blanketed holidaymakers in many parts of the country this week.
The gloom summer weather follows the coldest December in much of New Zealand in 60 years.
