Selling Out Fast
Early Bird tickets for New Zealand’s
largest technology event being snapped up
AUCKLAND, New Zealand – 8 May 2007 – Microsoft New Zealand has announced that tickets for this year’s popular Tech∙Ed event are selling fast. Promotion of Tech∙Ed 2007 started only last week and already the Early Bird offer has almost sold out.
Sean McBreen, Microsoft New Zealand’s Director of Developer & Platform Strategy Group says Microsoft has increased the range of topics covered at the event.
“There will be eleven tracks at Tech∙Ed 2007. This includes a new New Zealand track which focuses on customer stories about their use of technology. During the three day event, over 80 speakers will share their knowledge and experience in 128 sessions with the opportunity for delegates to test and evaluate the latest products and releases in the Hands-On Labs. Of course, the TechFest party promises to be bigger and better too!”
While registration has only recently opened, 582 people had already signed up before any active promotion of Tech∙Ed 2007 took place. Last year, Tech∙Ed 2006 sold out more than eight weeks before and, with over 2000 people due to attend this year and 1200 at the associated Student Day, McBreen expects it will sell out again well before August.
Leading ICT provider Gen-i has already purchased 180 tickets for its staff. Rick Hook, Gen-i’s Microsoft Practice Manager, says attending Tech∙Ed is an important part of the company’s staff training, building team morale and excitement.
“We feel that Tech∙Ed is a ‘must-have’ for our employees. With the largest and most experienced team of Microsoft professionals in New Zealand, it is important for us to sustain our expertise in Microsoft technologies which span the breadth and depth of the Microsoft enterprise platform. With the different tracks and large number of sessions, there is something to suit everyone and the knowledge gained in these three days is really valuable in ensuring we have an insight into the next generation of Microsoft technologies and the business benefits they provide to our clients.”
Tech∙Ed 2007 takes place at the SkyCity Convention Centre in Auckland from August 13 to 15 with Student Day on 16 August. The eleven tracks at the main event include:
- Architecture
- Business Intelligence & Database
- Connected
Systems
