Fortinet to the Rescue of SME’s
ISP, hosting and data centre specialist ICONZ Ltd has responded to the growing need of SMEs to increase employee productivity and manage the multitude of internet security systems through the creation of a partnership with Fortinet. This offers small to medium businesses a managed network solution providing security, monitoring and management of their internet connectivity through one service.
If you are worried about decreasing productivity due to employees spending too much time on the internet, Fortinet is here to help. With tailored detailed reports businesses are able to keep tabs on visits made to sites such as Trademe.co.nz, Myspace.com and Youtube.com. With these and similar video and music streaming websites increasingly being frequented businesses data allocations are quickly reached and so costs budgeted for are exceeded.
Reports from Fortinet include details on the websites visited, the number of visitations, the volume of traffic generated by visits, P2P activity and virus detection.
“A common theme of staff down time is attributable to the internet”, says Peter Tritt, of the Northern EMA: “40 per cent of staff down time was spent on the internet, particularly email.” Clearswift, a Californian internet security firm supports this view.
Fortinet’s powers do not stop there. Besides eliminating viruses and worms, intrusion prevention and firewall, Fortinet integrates all the security management programmes necessary to protect businesses into one system. Fortinet removes the need for multiple security packages including mail server AntiVirus and web content filtering programmes such as WebMarshal. Fortinet also replaces the need for any software driven VPN, all without reducing network performance.
“Fortinet provides a superior security and reporting package at a fraction of the cost of deploying a technician and several security packages” explains Sean Weekes, COO of ICONZ Ltd. “An inexperienced technician would typically cost a company $80,000 a year, while the numerous security packages required would increase the total by another $10,000.”
Founded in 1992 as one of New Zealand’s first ISP’s, ICONZ Ltd provides end-to-end solutions ranging from business grade connectivity, hosting and Data Centre services and managed services to web development and professional services. The ICONZ Group brings together a collection of brands and services including: Freeparking, WebFarm, and 2day.com.
