Symantec in the Leaders Quadrant of the Magic Quadrant for Email Active Archiving
According to Symantec, adoption of Enterprise Vault is driven by ability to execute in meeting customer demands today and being well-positioned for tomorrow as the market evolves
Symantec Corp. (Nasdaq: SYMC) today announced
that it has been positioned by Gartner, Inc. in the leaders
quadrant in the 2008 Magic Quadrant for Email Active
Archiving. Symantec’s intelligent archiving platform,
Enterprise Vault, stores, manages, and enables discovery of
corporate data from email systems, filer server
environments, instant messaging platforms, and content
management and collaboration systems.
“Leaders have the highest combined measures of an ability to execute and a completeness of vision,” according to the Gartner report authored by Carolyn DiCenzo and Kenneth Chin. “They have the most-comprehensive and most-scalable products. They have a proven track record of financial performance and established market presence. In terms of vision, they are perceived as thought leaders, with well-articulated plans for ease of use, how to address scalability and product breadth.”
“In my opinion, Symantec is in the leaders quadrant and remains the only market leader because of our ability to execute and meet the present customer demands around managing email and unstructured information effectively, so discovery is quick and complete,” said Francis deSouza, senior vice president, Symantec Information Foundation, Compliance & Security Management. “Additionally, our customers rely on Symantec with confidence in our ability to look forward to how we’ll be able to meet their next archiving need in a market that is growing so fast.”
Gartner has reported that the email archiving software market grew 33 percent in 2007 to reach $376 million and is forecasting a compound annual growth rate of nearly 36 percent until it reaches $1.72 billion by 2012.
