Record Jobseeker Numbers Continue, Job Growth Driven By Auckland
New results from Nielsen reveal that for the fourth month in a row record numbers of Kiwi jobseekers have headed to New Zealand’s number one job site, SEEK.co.nz. Strong jobseeker activity has resulted in close to 900,000 unique visitors* heading to the site in September, 5% up on August and 60% up year, on year.
On SEEK there are more jobs than anywhere else in New Zealand and this continues to stimulate strong jobseeker demand. With more than 10,000 jobs available at any one time, over 630,000 unique visitors went to SEEK.co.nz in September that did not visit the next largest job site.
After a number of months of stabilisation across job volumes in New Zealand, SEEK data for September showed early signs of a lift in job opportunities. Across the country job volumes were up 4% in September with the majority of the growth coming from Auckland which was 8% compared to August. Industries showing larger uplifts of job volumes were:
