Izon Science Appoints Director To New US
Office
Nanotechnology company Izon Science today announced the opening of US operations. Dr. Dietrich Ruehlmann has been appointed to the position of Director Business Development to run the new Maryland-based office and lead Izon's expansion in North America.
Hans van der Voorn, the Executive Chairman of Izon Science says, "Izon Science already has substantial partnerships with academic, commercial and government laboratories in the US and Canada. Our new office in the US will allow us to build an even greater presence in the region. We're delighted to welcome Dr. Ruehlmann to the team. His strong research background and substantial commercial experience in the laboratory instrumentation market will be a valuable addition."
Dr. Ruehlmann is a graduate of King's College London where he was awarded a BSc in Biomedical Sciences and a PhD in Cellular Physiology. He also holds an MBA from Smith School of Business, University of Maryland. He has 12 years' experience in the biomedical field with roles in research, marketing, commercialisation and business development.
Dr. Ruehlmann says, "I am excited to join the Izon team. Their nanopore system is truly innovative and has great potential, not only as a characterization tool for particles, but, also as a future in-vitro diagnostics platform. It is the breadth of applications that makes the qNano and the qViro stand out from single-purpose particle counters."
Izon has a number of research collaborations with key institutions and individuals around the world using their technology to break new ground. North American collaboration partners include Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Johns Hopkins University, NIST, and University of California Santa Cruz.
"I am looking forward to working with our North American research partners as they use our technology to break new ground in a number of nanoparticle related fields," says Dr. Ruehlmann.
