New Technology for Hearing Impaired NZers
One Plus One & Augusto Bring Music Back to Life for Hearing Impaired New Zealanders
Auckland: 9, September 2014.
Auckland-based creative corporate communications agency, One Plus One, is bringing back the joy of music for hearing-impaired New Zealanders, thanks to its latest trans-Tasman work with GN ReSound®.
Over the past eight months, One Plus One have developed a multi-layered PR campaign to introduce GN ReSound’s newest technology, the ReSound LiNX™ to the New Zealand market. Thanks to its made-for-iPhone® capabilities, the ReSound LiNX has been dubbed “the world’s smartest hearing aid.”
Having already secured an impressive portfolio of earned media, One Plus One worked in collaboration with Augusto to develop two filmic vignettes, featuring NZ music legends and ReSound ambassadors: Mike Chunn, former member of iconic New Zealand bands Split Enz and Citizen band and Todd Hunter, founding member and bass guitarist of celebrated rock band Dragon.
One Plus One and GN ReSound commissioned leading 'creatively-led, humanity-obsessed' agency Augusto to produce the content which was filmed at Neil Finn's Roundhead Studios.
The clips show Hunter and
Chunn speaking candidly about their experiences with hearing
loss resulting from their years in the music industry, and
the profound impact the ReSound LiNX has had on their lives
by reversing its effects.
Kelly Bennett, Managing
Director of One Plus One, says, “Our New Zealand and
Australian ReSound ambassadors, Todd Hunter and Mike Chunn ,
were the perfect guys to help bring this content to life.
Working with the talented team at Augusto has also meant
that the content is not only informative, but authentic and
engaging.”
Leon Kirkbeck, Managing Director of Augusto, comments: "We're really chuffed with how this has turned out, thanks in no small part to the natural talents and easy rapport of Mike Chunn and Todd Hunter, coupled with the deft creative treatment applied by ECD Ollie Maisey and the rest of the Augusto crew."
Hunter and Chunn were brought on board as ambassadors following an exhaustive search process and both now wear the ReSound LiNX devices. They have appeared widely across Australian and New Zealand media promoting the benefits and unique capabilities of this outstanding “game changing’ technology.
The video content will be housed on the GN ReSound website, and is also being looked to as a ‘best in class’ example for similar ReSound projects globally.
