Science Alive!

Science Alive! brings the public back into the heart of Christchurch with the

BIG SCIENCE DAY – Imagination, Innovation, Inspiration.

On Saturday 31st October, 2015 Science Alive! will be hosting the BIG SCIENCE DAY, an all-day Science and Technology event suitable for people of all ages.

Answering the call from the Ministry of Business Innovation and Employment for programmes and events highlighting innovation and career pathways, Science Alive! has seized the opportunity to showcase local opportunities in the most iconic of locations – Cathedral Square. The innovation and education sectors have responded with overwhelming support, and their collaboration means this will be an inspiring and engaging day not to be missed.

This exciting FREE event will play host to displays and demonstrations of the latest technologies, spectacular science shows, and hands-on, have a go workshops. Careers advisors from local tertiary andcareer providers will be on-site to dissect the range of skills needed for continued production of innovative products and services, ensuring Canterbury retains its cutting edge innovation status.

Science Alive! aims to foster interest in Science and Technology within our community, to benefit the future of New Zealand. We promote the value of science through effective, high quality, interactive experiences. As we move forward into a new central city location, we see this event as a significant stepping stone announcing our intention to bring the best of local Science and Technology innovation direct to the public, in an accessible, fun and engaging way.
