BackingBlack HQ Opens As a Home Base for All Blacks Fans

All Blacks fans now have their own clubhouse in the middle of Auckland’s Viaduct, and there is no other space like it! BackingBlack, the All Blacks fan club welcomes passionate rugby fans from Aotearoa and around the globe to stop by and show their support for the greatest rugby team in the world!

From 24 September BackingBlack HQ will be open for fans to come down and enjoy, support and maybe even talk to some All Blacks. Open daily, HQ boasts a jam-packed schedule of events and activities for a truly unique All Blacks experience.

The clubhouse-inspired lounge comes complete with the latest Telecom technology; free wireless Internet, food and drink, exhibitions, All Blacks appearances, special events and so much more.

Caroline Booth, Sponsorship Manager from Telecom explains “BackingBlack HQ will deliver the best FREE All Blacks fan experience around. Without letting the cat out of the bag, there’s a special surprise on entry where a few All Blacks will seem to appear out of ‘thin air’ through a virtual All Blacks experience. It has to be seen to be believed.”

To kick things off, legendary All Blacks photographer Peter Bush will be opening his ‘Hard on The Heels’ photography exhibition on September 24, and the exhibition will be on display at HQ until the end of October.

With many more activities and events to be revealed over the coming weeks BackingBlack HQ will become the place to be for exciting and entertaining All Blacks interaction in New Zealand.

Here is just a taste of what is going on:

• All Blacks Quiz Night – test your All Blacks IQ and be in to win great prizes – 29th September – 6.00pm
• Fan Show and Tell – whether it’s an old jersey, biscuit tin, boot nugget kit ... or even a really old All Black at home ... dig ‘em out and bring ‘em down to share. - 1st October 4.30pm
• BackingBlack HQ Family Day - think face painting, magicians and perhaps a surprise or two – 2nd October 11.00am
• BackingBlack Comedy Scrum - An International Selection of local comedians stand up for black (PG event) celebrates the arrival of the rest of the world. - 6th October 7.30pm
• All Blacks Appearances - members only events for BackingBlack members*
