PRIORITIES FOR MARCH U.N. HUMAN RIGHTS COUNCIL SESSION

On February 24, Pol/Mil Officer delivered reftel demarche to
Mr. Der Kogda, Director of Multilateral Affairs at the
Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Pol/Mil officer reminded him
that the United Nations Human Rights Council (HRC) would hold
its 13th regular session in Geneva on March 1-26, 2010.
Pol/Mil discussed the six principle USG priorities for the
Council and explained that the USG is seeking to engage other
governments and delegations, including Burkina Faso, on those
priorities. Kogda said he would share our human rights
priorities with the Burkinabe Foreign Ministry as well as its
Mission in Geneva.
