SUBJECT: JORDAN LEAHY VETTING RESPONSE FOR RJAF OFFICERS -

1. (SBU) In response to reftel Leahy vetting request, the
Department has reviewed its files and finds it possesses
no credible information of gross violations of human
rights at this time by the Jordanian officials listed
below. Please note that if at any time the Embassy
becomes aware of information regarding incidents which
could be deemed to be credible information of a gross
violation of human rights by these individuals, the
Embassy should so inform the Department.

2. (SBU) The following Jordanian Air Force officials have
been
selected to participate in, or are considered alternates
for, U.S. military training that was scheduled on or about
12-Feb-2010 in the United States. The department understands
this course was postponed, however these officials may
participate in an upcoming course. The names of the
candidates follow in "rank, name, city of birth (in Jordan
unless otherwise noted), birth date" format:

1, MAJ, Ashraf Salameh Abdullah Qa'Qa'a, Amman, 30-NOV-1974
2, CAPT, Mohammad Jamal Ahmad Al Refai, Amman, 23-JUL-1979
3, CAPT, Olwan Obied Mufleh Al Thunian, Sweileh, 15-JAN-1984

3. (SBU) Post is permitted to provide the following
statement to authorized parties: Embassy verifies that
the Department of State possesses no credible information
of gross violations of human rights by the individuals
identified in paragraph 2 above, as of this date. Post
may cite this cable in response.
