A catche of bombs and arms have been found in Narere outside Suva yesterday.
The weapons were found when the military raided a vacant house 7 miles outside Suva. The bombs were 2 inch in diameter and 18 inches long. A full list of arms and bombs found has not been released by the military. But two bombs exploded at the military camp injuring a solider from the army's explosive unit. The home belonged to one Henry Rajendra Singh who told the media that he was notified of the find at 8am yesterday. The bombs exploded at the military camp at 1.10pm.
It is believed that the discovery was made when one of the rocket type bombs exploded in the house setting it alight. The military later raided a neighbouring house where more bombs and firearms were found.
The source of the weapons are not known. The military has stated that it does not hold bombs of that nature in its armoury. It is not known how many people have been arrested over the find.
