IDF Forces Along the Israel-Egypt Border Come Under Fire
Tuesday Night Israel Time: IDF forces along the Israel-Egypt border, near the city of Rafah, came under heavy fire. Terrorists directed small arms fire at IDF forces, fired 8 anti-tank missiles, and hurled 28 grenades. No injuries to IDF forces were reported, but damage was caused to IDF outposts.
In addition, IDF forces in the area of the Israeli community of Ganei Tal (Gaza Strip) were fired at. IDF forces returned fire.
23 wanted Palestinians arrested in the West Bank
Last night, IDF forces arrested 23 wanted Palestinians in the following locations:
Katna, south of Ramallah: IDF special forces arrested Iyad Shamsanah, a Tanzim-Fatah operative, who was responsible for carrying out a shooting attack in the Ramallah sector (West Bank).
Hares, east of Hebron: 1 wanted Islamic Jihad operative was arrested.
Tulkarem:2 wanted Palestinians were arrested.
Dura, west of Hebron: 1 wanted Hamas operative was arrested.
Beit Ibah, west of Nablus: 1 wanted Palestinian was arrested.
Nablus: 2 wanted Palestinians were arrested.
Hebron: 1 Hamas operative, 1 Tanzim-Fatah operative, and an additional wanted Palestinian were arrested.
Yatta, south of Hebron: 1 wanted Palestinian was arrested.
Batir, west of Bethlehem: 2 wanted Palestinians were arrested.
Walajeh, north-west of Bethlehem and south of Ramallah: 5 wanted Palestinians were arrested.
IDF forces kill Fatah operative planning to carry out terrorist attack
Yesterday, during an exchange of fire in the area of Khan Yunis, IDF forces killed Jihad Hasnin, a Fatah operative. Hasnin was involved in an infilitration at the Marganit outpost (August 25, 2001) in which an IDF officer and two IDF soldiers were killed.
It should be noted that Hasnin was planning to carry out a terrorist attack in the very near future.
