Nato Defence Ministers To Meet In Brussels

Nato Defence Ministers To Meet In Brussels

Ministers of Defence from NATO and partner countries will meet at NATO Headquarters, 12-13 June, to review progress made in transforming NATO's military structure and capabilities.

The Ministers will discuss key projects aimed at giving the Alliance the capacity to fully meet today's security threats. These include the creation of a rapidly deployable NATO Response Force, equipping the Alliance with key capabilities and the reform of its military command structure.

Several NATO countries are also expected to formally launch joint projects to address key gaps in NATO's operational capabilities, such as air and sealift.

Ministers will also meet with the counterparts from partner countries at meetings of the NATO-Russia Council, the NATO-Ukraine Commission and the Euro-Atlantic Partnership Council.

Regular meetings of NATO Defence Ministers are held twice a year to review current developments, the Alliance's activities and take appropriate decisions.
