Hiroshima – The World’s Largest Act Of Terrorism

Hiroshima – The World’s Largest Act Of Terrorism

Press Release of Raelian Movement
25th August 2003

HIROSHIMA – THE WORLD’S LARGEST ACT OF TERRORISM RAELIANS IN SUPPORT HIROSHIMA VICTIMS

Following the Aug 20th release of the restored plane that delivered the Hiroshima bomb in 1945, the “Enola Gay”, Raelians worldwide are inciting people to never forget this act of terrorism.

Ricky Roehr, President of the US Raelian Movement states: “To view this horrible act for what it is, it is important to remove all patriotism which is only a false justification for this horrible mass murder and further suffering of 250,000 innocent victims. These people were not military, but civilians. This, by definition, is an act of terrorism. We should never forget that one country’s justified attack on civilians is another country’s terrorism.

Raelians even recognize the anniversary of Hiroshima (Aug. 6) as the new year and have filed a petition with the UN to accept this calendar instead of perpetuating the Christian calendar which has been imposed by the winners of brutal wars, who also conveniently write the news and history books. Aug. 6th is the day that mankind used nuclear energies which could destroy the entire planet and mankind must never do this again.

Hiroshima was the worst act of terrorism ever, and killed 100 times more than the September 11 New York attack. Veterans and families of veterans who justify this act by saying that it saved countless military lives are even worse. In other words they are saying that the killing of innocent civilians saves military lives, which is precisely what terrorists say about their attacks. Would the fact that Japan surrendered after the bombings mean that the US would do the same if a terrorist group made a nuclear attack on New York? Would the US then surrender and do what the terrorists ask? This justification will only encourage terrorists to do follow in the example set by the US in the future and to even use atomic bombs to attack. The Hiroshima bombing was the worst terrorist attack in the world's history. Period. And the US government should pay damages to the victims and their families just as Lybia is now paying damages to Lockerbie victims - because it was also state terrori sm.”

Only by remembering the faces of innocent civilians, women and children can we judge the horrors of wars. A country should judge its greatness not by its power, but how it decides to use that power. The model for all countries should be Gandhi, who defeated the world’s strongest military without raising a hand.
