Upcoming Rock Band Tours Nation To Help Stop Vote Fraud In 2004

Portland, OR - October 30 – The rising rock band Railer are beginning to receive national coverage regarding their “New National Anthem” road tour as they cross the United States carrying out their energetic rock show and political message.

Railer are a fast rising rockwave band from Portland, Or. Praised by rock critics as a band that ‘rivals anything Blur or Radiohead have done in their careers”, the band won the Northwest’s largest ever band search judged by industry veterans John Reese and Paul Gomez. They are currently are working towards recording with Ross Robinson, the producer of the next three Cure albums.

Railer frontman Randall Scott says there are two reasons why the band is excited to be a part of this tour. The first is to support their current album “Frame of Mind”, and the latter is to encourage people to contact their congressional representatives in support of congressional bill HR 2239. Cited as the Voter Confidence and Increased Accessibility Act of 2003, HR 2239 encourages voter-verified permanent record or hard copy to prevent any tampering of votes during election.

At each stop on their national tour, Railer have handed out information sheets and spoken about Bill HR 2239 with facts regarding how vote results are open to manipulation based on new touch screen technologies. Currently the band feels that the Help America Vote Act (HAVA) is open to possible corruption.

"I think this tour is an excellent way to educate and invigorate people that aren't afraid to take action for their rights”, Says Scott. “The American voting system is on the fast track to corruption and we have less than one year to stop it. States are already purchasing touch screen machines from Diebold and other security flawed companies. People can still make a difference."

As a band, Railer is no newcomer to controversy. While the band were performing an industry showcase in Los Angeles, an executive of a large record label scurried from the studio mid-performance after Scott jumped off stage and lap danced the executive’s girlfriend. "I didn't know who she was at the time it happened", says Scott. "He didn’t find it very funny and left. Needless to say, he didn’t sign our band."

Railer are determined to have their music and message heard. The ‘New National Anthem continues to tour the United States through November 21st.
