IOF Invades Rafah, Wounds Four Palestinians and Uses
Civilians as Human Shields in West Bank
RAFAH, Palestine - - The Israeli occupying forces (IOF) invaded today evening the city of Rafah, south of Gaza Strip, and demolished a house there, as four Palestinian citizens were wounded in Nablus and others were held as human shields during raids in Beit Reema.
Palestinian security sources told IPC correspondent that the Israeli occupying forces invaded today evening the Al Salam neighborhood in Rafah City, and demolished a Palestinian home there.
The sources added that dozens of Israeli tanks and armored vehicles advanced through the neighborhood, amidst heavy and random gunfire at Palestinian citizens and their houses. The Israeli D-9 bulldozers escorting the invading force tore down a house owned by Samir Nasrallah, eyewitnesses confirmed.
Meanwhile, the Bani Zaid Al Gharbiya town hall issued a press statement today, calling relevant international and local human rights bodies to intervene and stop the occupying forces from using the Palestinian citizens in the town as human shields.
WAFA news agency reported that the Israeli occupying troops invaded the town of Beit Reema four consecutive times, using citizens from Bani Zaid Al Gharbiya as human shields, while firing live and rubber-coated bullets at the Palestinian citizens.
The town hall said that as a result of this inhumane and internationally-prohibited policy, a Palestinian boy, Rami Al Rimawi, was shot with two rubber-coated bullets in the head and leg, as a result he was taken to Ramallah public hospital.
The town hall called for an immediate intervention by the international organizations to stop these acts, especially in the town of Beit Reema, which witnessed a massacre by the hands of the Israeli occupying forces in the beginning of the Al Aqsa Intifada.
Earlier, the Israeli occupying forces shot and wounded four Palestinian citizens during a raid on two neighborhoods in the city of Nablus.
Hospital officials at Rafidia hospital told IPC's that the four citizens received treatment in the hospital after being shot with live bullets by the Israeli soldiers. Eyewitnesses and local residents confirmed that Israeli military patrols in the Rafidia neighborhood and Balata refugee camp opened fire at Palestinian citizens, wounding the aforementioned ones.
Sources at Nablus municipality asserted that the Israeli occupying forces invaded the city of Nablus and its Balata refugee camp from different directions, and imposed curfew again on the city.
