19.05.2005 [PL/Colombia] A homage in Colombia to Cuban national hero Jose Marti on the 110th anniversary of his fall in combat will conclude Thursday in this capital.

Cubans in an official mission or residents in that Andean country and Colombians who are friends of the Caribbean island will gather at noon in the Policarpa Salavarrieta neighborhood park, in Bogota, to place a wreath at Marti´s bust.

This will be the end of a cycle of activities to pay homage to the Cuban National Hero, which started Tuesday with a lecture about validity of Marti´s ethical precepts and truth in Colombian current journalism.

The Committee´s coordinator Viviana Mejia told Prensa Latina they already began their struggle, together with many other people in the world, to achieve freedom for Rene Gonzalez, Ramon Laba¤ino, Antonio Guerrero, Fernando Gonzalez, and Gerardo Hernandez.
