ANZ Donates Money To The Save The Children

The ANZ Bank in Solomon Islands has donated a cheque of $250,000-00 to the Save The Children in Gizo today.
The ANZ Branch Manager in Noro, Mr. Judah Saepejah, who is currently on relief duties at the ANZ branch in Gizo handed over the cheque to the Country Program Director of Save The Children, Mr. Ramesh Puri.
Staff and volunteers of the Save The Children as well as the public of Gizo town witnessed the brief handing-over ceremony, which was held at the front office of Save The Children in Gizo Chinatown.
Speaking during the occasion, Mr. Judah Saepejah of ANZ, acknowledged the great contribution that Save The Children has provided to the victims of the earthquake and tsunami that had devastated the Western Province early this month.
“ANZ is happy to render support to a noble cause and what is witnessed today exemplifies our continued support to the disaster relief efforts”, Saepejah said.
In accepting the cheque, the Country Program Director of Save The Children, Mr. Ramesh Puri, thanked ANZ and gave his assurance that Save The Children will fully utilize the money for the benefit of the many victims of the disaster.
He said that so far Save The Children has helped over 2,000 people who have been severely affected by the recent tragic event.
“We continue to provide fresh clean water to the thousands of people who depend on us”, Mr Puri said.
He said that Save The Children has also provided help to the many affected children who have been traumatized.
Mr. Puri stressed that it is important to ensure that the children receive adequate assistance so that they could be able to live normal again and continue with their education.
He revealed that this is not the first time that ANZ had assisted the Save The Children.
