Army In Concert 2007
Army In Concert 2007
The Band of the Royal Military College, Duntroon and the Australian Army Band Sydney will join forces at the Canberra Theatre on 15 August 2007 at 7:30pm for Army in Concert. All proceeds will go to aid Canberra Legacy.
The Canberra Theatre stage will come alive to the sound of 60 musicians, along with the Armys newest recruit, one of Australias most versatile and talented entertainers, Silvie Paladino. Tickets to this special event are $45.00 general admission and $35.00 for concession and groups of 12 or more. Money raised will aid Canberra Legacy and assist them to continue their work caring for the families of deceased veterans.
Silvie Paladino has for many years established herself as one of the leading ladies of Australian musicals. She has appeared in Les Miserables, CATS, Hair, Miss Saigon, Mamma Mia and more recently the world premiere of Sideshow Alley. Silvie has also appeared with the Sydney and Melbourne Symphony Orchestras and is well known to Australian television audiences through her appearances on Good Morning Australia, Denise, The Midday Show, In Melbourne Tonight and Hey Hey Its Saturday. Silvie is also a regular performer at Carols by Candlelight at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl.
The Bands will be under the musical direction of Lieutenant Colonel Patrick Pickett, Major Geoff Grey and Major Andrea Davey. Each of these conductors has served in the Royal Military College Band in previous years.
Major Grey said, the opportunity for these proud and traditional Army Bands to work alongside one of Australias leading ladies of the stage will be a special moment for each musician and audience member. Her breathtaking vocal ability will be worth the price of the ticket.
Canberra Legacy is proud of its association with the Australian Army Band Corps and hope that all patrons who attend this event will have a memorable evening.
