Prime Minister Sikua Innocent Of Drink-Driving Charge

Prime Minister Dr Derek Sikua has been found innocent of a drink-driving charge against him at the Honiara Magistrate Court today.

Magistrate William Seneka acquitted Dr Sikua after police failed to charge him immediately after the alleged offence was committed in January 2006.

Dr Sikua, at that time has resigned from the Public Service to contest the 2006 National Election.

It took police 10 months to lay the charge against Dr Sikua.
