Nablus To Erect Mourning Tent
Nablus To Erect Mourning Tent To Commemorate All Palestinians Killed By Israel's Attacks On Gaza
At 1pm on Thursday, January 8th, Nablus residents will erect a tent in the city center to commemorate all Palestinians killed during the ongoing Israeli war on Gaza.
The tent will be opened by the governor of Nablus, in conjunction with a demonstration by Nablus medical committees. This 24-hour remembrance tent will serve as a community space until the Israeli operation in Gaza ends.
The tent is organized by a coalition of Palestinian political parties, organizations, independent citizens, and international solidarity activists. For the duration of the attacks on Gaza, daily programs at the tent will include gatherings and events from different aspects of Palestinian civil society. The tent is a non-sectarian initiative that will serve as a space where all are welcome to voice their solidarity with Gaza. A series of tents will also be erected in cities worldwide, in solidarity with those killed and injured in the ongoing massacre in Gaza.
At least 590 Palestinians have been killed in this attack on the Palestinian people, and more than 2800 injured – a large percentage of which were civilians, including women and children. Nablus and Gaza are united in resisting the brutal and illegal occupation and the lives lost will be commemorated in this memorial.
