West Papuan Students Imprisoned And Tortured

West Papuan Students Imprisoned And Tortured

Dear all,

Today I am writing this to inform you that we are organising demonstrations against the abuse of West Papuan human rights, the rallies are to be held between the US, English and Indonesian embassies and also the Australian parliament in Canberra on the 27th March 2009, at 10.am.

The purpose of this events is to continue to raise awareness about the West Papuan students who are imprisoned in
West Papua and face ongoing torture, intimidation and abuse.

They should be released from their Indonesian prison
because they are not criminals.

Please continue to help us lobby and write letters to
Amnesty International, the Australian government and
the international community to put pressure on the
Indonesian government to release all political
prisoners throughout all of West Papua and Indonesia.

They were arrested by Indonesian army, police and
intelligence without consideration for their freedom
of speech.

Thank you for your attention and I look forward to seeing you there!

Kind regards,

Herman Wainggai
