Commission Of Inquiry Into The Loss Of HMAS Sydney II, Sydney Public Hearings 23-25 March 2009

What: Public hearings of the Commission of Inquiry (COI) into the loss of HMAS Sydney II.

Who: The President of the Commission, The Honourable Terence Cole AO, RFD, QC, will convene the final public hearings of the Inquiry.

During these hearings testimony will be presented to the Commission from a number and independent researchers and historians regarding the possible fate of HMAS Sydney II and her crew.

When: 10:00am, Monday 23 to Wednesday 25 March 2009.

Where: Hearing Room 1, Level 5, 55 Market Street, Sydney.

Media Notes:

Television cameras will not be granted access to the hearing room without permission of the President.

Transcripts of the public hearing and exhibits will be available on the Defence Sydney II website at:

www.defence.gov.au/sydneyii

These are the final hearing dates scheduled for the COI. In the event of further hearings, the Commission will advertise these dates on the Defence Sydney II website.
