President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad of Iran and his counterpart from Switzerland Hance Rodoulf Merets discussed major bilateral, regional and international developments in a meeting here Sunday night.

The Iranian President stressed the need to promote Tehran-Geneva relations and cooperation and said the two countries would have a positive influence on major international issues.
Meanwhile, President Merets expressed satisfaction over President Ahmadinejad’s presence in Switzerland.

The Iranian President arrived in Geneva on Sunday to attend the anti-racism Durban Review Conference (Durban 2) which is the follow-up to the 2001 First World Conference on Racism in South Africa.

Participants of the first conference had strongly condemned the racist policies of the Zionist regime.
