SI Mission In Brussels Loses A Dedicated Worker

The Solomon Islands Mission in Brussels has lost a committed and dedicated locally engaged member of staff, Mr Anil Kumar Malhotra, who passed away suddenly from heart problems on the morning of Monday, 11 January 2010.

Mr Malhotra was first engaged as a chauffeur and office assistant for the Solomon Islands Mission in Brussels in 1999. He continued to serve in such capacity until the time of his death.

During his decade of service at the Solomon Islands Mission in Brussels, Mr Malhotra was a very committed and dedicated member of staff who ensured general administrative and logistic support. In his work he dealt with the Mission’s local service providers and suppliers, and in particular, helping with arrangements to ensure local dignitaries who visited Brussels were well looked after.

The late Anil Malhotra endured and shared the good and difficult times faced by the Solomon Islands Mission in Brussels from 1999 to 2010.

In recognition of Mr Anil Malhotra’s commitment and dedicated service to Solomon Islands, he was awarded a Solomon Islands Medal (SIM) in 2007.

Solomon Islands dignitaries, including Government Ministers and senior civil servants who have visited Brussels on official tours will have come across the late Malhotra, and in making their acquaintances recognize his friendliness and efficiency in going about his work.

The Head of Solomon Islands Mission in Brussels expresses its deepest sympathies to the family, relatives and friends of the late Anil Kumar Malhotra, a staff member and dear friend.

So long Mr Anil Kumar Malhotra. He will always be remembered for the commitment and dedicated service he has rendered to the Government and People of Solomon Islands through his work in the Mission in Brussels.

The late Mr Anil Kumar Malhotra is survived by his wife and two grown children.
