April Polls: Peterside Gets 'Foreign' Support
Immediate past Works Commissioner in Rivers State, Dakuku Peterside, has started to receive 'foreign' support for his ambition for a House of Representatives seat in this coming April polls.
AkanimoReports said on Monday that the former commissioner has received the support of his kinsmen, the Opobo people in the Diaspora.
Peterside, is the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the Andoni, Opobo/Nkoro Federal Constituency in the forth coming election.
The Chief Co-ordinator of the Opobo people in the Diaspora, Shedrack Fubara, claimed in an online statement that they support of the candidacy of the former works commissioner for the House of Representatives poll.
''We pledge our total support for Peterside in recognition of all he has done to develop Opobo Kingdom. His efforts at empowering our youths, women and men, is unequalled. His contributions at developing the local government and Rivers state'', he said.
According to him, ''the Opobo people in the Diaspora have come together as one group to show our support for him. We have begun extensive publicity using several social networks to mobilize our people for this cause.
''In the coming days we will go all out to sensitive our people and voters of the constituency back home through various available media.
''Peterside is a worthy son of Ibani Kingdom who the cap fits perfectly well to represent our people in the House of Reps. This is the message the Forum - Opobians in Diaspora is determined to sell to the whole world and to do everything we can to see to his election''.
