Bomb & Shooting Attacks In Norway Cause Havoc

OSLO, NORWAY Buildings in the capital were heavily damaged after at least one bomb exploded. Shooting at a youth camp outside of the capital brings death toll to 16.

A major blast damaged the offices of Norwegian Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg and a number of other official buildings, including the headquarters of some of Norways leading newspapers.

According to eyewitness reports, at least eight people were injured from the explosion.

One terror group, Ansar al-Jihad al-Alami, or the Helpers of the Global Jihad, issued a statement claiming responsibility for the attack. Their claims have been unconfirmed.

Following the bomb blast, several people died from gunfire at Utoeya - located northwest of Oslo - where Stoltenberg's Labor party youth section's annual gathering was taking place. As many as 700 teenagers, ages 14-18 were in attendance when a Norwegian gunman disguised in police uniform started shooting.

A total death toll of 16 people from both attacks was reported.

Connections between the two incidents as terrorist attacks have not been confirmed. Investigations are underway.
