Kick-off Global movement to bust Abbott's monopoly on AID

Today Abbott Laboratories became the target of a multi-country protest because of its monopoly of the most important HIV/AIDs drug ever made, Kaletra, is not available to the people who need it most.

This unique medicine not only prevents HIV/AIDs but it is 96% successful in the treatment of AIDS. However, Abbott keeps the price of this product so high that it is killing people by keeping the medicine out of reach for the most severely affected populations. We are calling for generic competition for this critical AIDs drug immediately.

According to a policy speech made two days ago by U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, it’s possible for the world to have an “AIDs-free generation” for the first time since the disease was identified. Without global access to this medicine, that statement is nothing but a pipe dream.

Please visit http://www.citizen.org/Kaletra-campaign for all the news and FAQs on our call for generic competition of Kaletra.
