Global March To Jerusalem
March 30, 2012
Join the world to demand real change!
In three short weeks the world will join in solidarity with Palestinians to demand real change in their struggle for human rights. Land convoys will arrive from India and South Africa. Marches will commence from several locations toward Jerusalem in the West Bank and historical Palestine (Israel). Creative actions and large rallies will occur in Gaza. Palestinian refugees and their supporters will march towards Jerusalem and then hold mass rallies near the borders in Lebanon, Syria, Jordan and Egypt. While solidarity demonstrations will take place around the world on Land Day March 30, 2012. In the United States the Occupy movements in Washington DC and San Francisco are planning to participate. And other actions in the US and Canada are sure to happen.
One of the inspirations for the Global March to Jerusalem was the events of May 15, 2011 where Palestinian refugees marched form Syria and Lebanon toward their homeland Palestine. Although they were clearly unarmed and have the right to return under international law, they were met with live ammunition by Israeli forces.
This year the nonviolent organizers from May 15 will
join with human rights supporters from around the world and
within Palestine in the spirit of the Arab Spring and the
international Occupy movements.
North American
participants have several options available to them including
marching in solidarity with refugees from border countries,
joining in demonstrations within Palestine, and
participating in local actions in North America. All
interested participants should register here .
If you cannot join us in
the region please help sponsor North American participants.
There are volunteers in the US and Canada who are prepared
to take part in the march but are lacking the financial
resources to do so. Your donations will go directly to these
willing volunteers.
