The Center for Information and Decision
Support- Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Planning issued a
report "The duties of Palestinian Government towards
detainees in Israeli Prisons". The report includes the
numbers of detainees and their geographical distribution. It
is recorded more than 750,000 Palestinians have been
detained since 1967, including 900 women, 9000 children and
tens of MPs and political leaders detained during the
Al-Aqsa Intifada. The report also pointed out the duties of
Palestinian Government towards detainees and that it has to
deal with it as a main political and national case and must
make every effort to free
them.

channel and praised the efforts that are made to serve the
Palestinian cause as they made programs that reflect
Palestinian suffering. The Minister emphasized measures to

Ministry of Public
Work and Housing
celebrates.
The Ministry of
Public Work and Housing celebrated the conclusion of a
training course on rescue and emergency for employees in
Mughraqa. The minister sent greetings to all workers in
civil defense commending their great efforts to serve the
people.
Ministry of Social
Affairs distributes aid cheques.
The Minister of Social Affairs started an inspection tour of the institutions of the Labor and Social Affairs ministries in Rafah. The Minister emphasized the importance of cooperation and team work. He also stressed the need to follow up humanitarian situations on the ground. The Ministry distributed aid cheques to people according to identified need.
Minister of Labor: Palestinian Government
allocates $864,000 to eliminate the phenomenon of
begging.
Minister of Social
affairs and Labor emphasized that the Palestinian Government
has allocated $864,000 to eliminate the phenomenon of
begging, as the economic situation in Gaza get worse because
of the blockade.
Prime
Minister receives a delegation from Kuwait Engineers
Union.
The Prime Minister
Ismail Haniyeh received a delegation from the Kuwait
Engineers Union at the headquarters of the Council of
Ministers in Gaza, and expressed his high appreciation of
Kuwait for supporting the Palestinian people. The aim of
their visit is to familiarise themselves with the
circumstances in Gaza, and ways they can help the
Palestinian people. The Minister emphasized the strong
relations between the two countries.
Prime Minister Participated in
Graduation Ceremony of "Martyrs of National Security"
course.
The Prime
Minister Ismail Haniyeh participated in the graduation
ceremony of the “Martyrs of National Security” course.
He congratulated them and praised the great efforts of the
National Security staff. The Prime Minister expressed his
pride in the national security officers and called for even
greater effort.
Council of
Ministers calls on the Arab Spring movement to support the
issue of detainees.
The
General Secretary of the Council of Ministers called for
immediate steps to resolve the detainees issue and do the
best to free them, especially those who have gone on the
hunger strike. He holds the Israeli occupation authorities
fully responsible for the life of detainees who have been on
an open hunger strike to demand their freedom. The Minister
clarified that the detainee issue is the top priority of the
Palestinian Government and they will make every effort to
achieve victory over the Israeli Occupation.

Affairs honored number of freed
detainees.
The Minister of
Religious Affairs honored a number of freed detainees and
presented them with a collection of religious and cultural
books. He welcomed the ex-detainees, and emphasized that
they are in every Palestinian’s heart because they faced
imprisonment and torture for their country, people and their
just cause.

Media Office: Prisoners’ Day and the anniversary of "Abu
Jihad" and Rantisi symbolize the unity of Palestinian
People.

occupation. The Office called on all International and Human
Rights organizations to stand by the detainees and their
cause.
Ministry
of Education carried out successful evacuation drill in
School of Umm Al-Qura.
The
Minister of Education has confirmed that they carried out a
successful evacuation drill for students that simulated
Zionist attacks on Gaza. The Minister declared that the
drill indicated that the Ministry is ready for any
emergency. They evacuated the students in only 60 seconds,
which was a record time, and without any
injury.
Ministry of Culture
organized a celebration to mark the "Prisoners’
Day"
The Ministry of
Culture and Wae'ed Association organized an operatic
celebration entitled "Freedom for our Detainees", on the
occasion of “Prisoners’ Day." The subject of the
operetta was the role of the Palestinian detainees and their
struggle against the Israeli IPS. At the end of the
operetta, the freed detainees carried photos of detainees
still in solitary confinement in Israeli jails.
Ministry of Foreign affairs praises the efforts
of the solidarity delegations
The Ministry of Foreign
Affairs and Planning called on the international community
to prevent Israeli occupation attacks on solidarity
delegations. He added that these criminal actions will not
stop the delegations from supporting Palestinians and
exposing the crimes of the occupation. The Ministry also
praised the efforts of these international delegations in
supporting the Palestinian issue.
Ministry of
Foreign Affairs granted Honorary Ambassador status to
Bahraini delegation
The
Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Planning honored the
Bahraini delegation and granted them the status of Honorary
Ambassador. The Ministry called on them to tell the world
about the suffering of the Palestinian people, in order to
help them.
Ministry of Communications organized
solidarity sit-in with detainees
The Ministry of
Communications and Information organized a sit-in with
released Palestinian prisoners on the occasion of
Prisoners’ Day, where they affirmed their support and
loyalty to the detainees in the Israeli jails.
Meanwhile, the Ministry also launched the electronic licensing system, and issued a set of postage stamps about the third anniversary of El-Forqan battle.
Ministry of
Culture organized a seminar about prisons literature
The Ministry of Culture
organized a workshop in coordination with Palestinian
writers entitled "Experiences of Prison Literature." The
advisor of the Minister of Culture spoke about prison
literature and the motives and circumstances that led the
detainees to write. The freed detainees also spoke about
their experience in writing while they were in prison, and
they delivered some poems they composed. The Ministry of
Culture launched a competition named Nahed EL-Rais for
Research, in recognition of his great efforts in serving
the Palestinian cause, and to Palestinian literature.
Minister of Women Affairs met with Detainees'
wives
The Minister of
Women Affairs received a delegation representing the wives
of the freed detainee's deported form the West Bank. The
Minister listened to their problems and their concerns and
she told them that they have to coexist with Gazan society
because they are among their families, and in their
country.
Prime Minister received delegations from
Bahrain and Malaysia
The
Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh met a delegation from the
Kingdom of Bahrain from Islah Association, and a Malaysian
delegation, the Aman Association.
The Bahraini delegation included a number of Bahraini civil society leaders, and students from the University of Bahrain. The Prime Minister expressed his pleasure at meeting with the delegation and praised their efforts in coming so far to support and assist their brothers in the Gaza Strip and Palestine.

The Prime
Minister leads the worshipers at Friday prayers held in
solidarity tent before the ICRC in Gaza in solidarity with
the detainees in the Israeli jails. The Prime Minister
affirmed that his government supports the rights and the
demands of the detainees, explaining that the government and
people will do everything they can to help the detainees get
their freedom, and return to their homes and their families.
Ministry of Transport honored the best employees
for 2011
The Public
Relations department at the Ministry of Transport organized
a ceremony to honor the best employees at the Ministry for
2011. Three employees were selected, and given appreciation
certificates and gifts.
Minister of Justice calls
his Omani counterpart to visit
Gaza
The Palestinian
Minister of Justice praised the efforts of his Omani
counterpart Sheikh Abdul Malik bin Abdullah Al Khalili in
supporting the Palestinian issue and the struggle against
the Israeli occupation. He stressed the need to strengthen
the relation between the Palestinian and the Omani
Ministries, in order to achieve the justice.
Ministry of Education: Hebrew language to be
taught in schools in the Gaza
Strip
The Assistant
Undersecretary at the Ministry of Education affirmed that
the Ministry intended to teach Hebrew in schools as an
elective subject. The Ministry seeks to activate teaching
foreign languages in Palestinian schools.
Prime
Minister praised agricultural development in
Gaza
The Prime Minister
Ismail Haniyeh praised agricultural developmental in the
Gaza Strip, pointing out that everyone acknowledges the
unprecedented performance of the sector in Gaza.
Haniyeh said, "The agricultural sector produces large quantities of crops and fruits instead of importing them, because the Ministry of Agriculture has enhanced its policies to support the local product."
