Ashkar: Prisoners From Gaza To Receive Family Visits Next Month

26/05/2012

GAZA, (PIC)-- The Israeli prison service (IPS) told prisoners from Gaza Strip that it will allow their relatives to visit them starting from the beginning of next June, under the recent agreement signed between the prisoners' leadership and the IPS, the researcher specialized in prisoners' affairs Riad Ashkar said.

Ashkar stated in a press release on Saturday that the IPS will initially allow family visits for 100 prisoners out of 470, and then it will allow visits for the rest in batches, so that all visits for prisoners from Gaza would be completed on the twentieth of June.

The researcher noted that the 470 prisoners from Gaza have been deprived of family visits since June 2007.
