Israeli court extends administrative detention of Abu Aoun

Israeli court extends administrative detention of Abu Aoun

13/6/2012

The international Tadamun (solidarity) society for human rights said an Israeli military court extended the administration detention of senior Hamas official Nazih Abu Aoun and prisoner Dawoud Rawajba.

Spokesman for the society Ahmed Al-Betawi said that Abu Aoun has spent more than 15 years of his life in Israeli jails, noting that his son Islam and his brother-in-law Ahmed Malaisha are also administratively detained.

The Israeli occupation forces had stormed the house of Abu Aoun about two weeks ago in Jaba town south of Jenin city, although he was in Megiddo jail.

As for the other prisoner, Betawi stated that Rawajba was detained at Al-Karama checkpoint as he was on his way to the Islamic hospital in Jordan to follow up his medical condition, which he has been suffering from since he was physically assaulted by Israeli interrogators in Fara prison in 1994.

Rawajba, according to the spokesman, sustained a serious injury in his head during one of the interrogation sessions in that year and since then he has been going into coma spells that makes him sleep for several days and suffering from other health problems.
