15/06/2012

GAZA, (PIC)-- Fawzi Barhoum, spokesman for Hamas, said that what has been achieved during the Palestinian negotiations in Cairo between Fatah and Hamas, the signing reconciliation agreement, and the start of applying it especially by dealing with the government file represent "an advanced step towards unity and ending division, we have all work to achieve it and overcome all the obstacles."

Barhoum said, in a press release issued on Thursday, that the Palestinian division was not a desire or a Palestinian interest at all, but rather it was the result of the blatant and direct external intervention in the Palestinian internal issues especially the Quartet's conditions that aim to foil the Islamic successful experience of the Palestinian democracy during which the Palestinian people voted for Hamas.

Today things have changed and the Palestinian people realize the seriousness of the continuing division and the need to achieve unity, he said, adding that in light of the Arab Islamic renaissance, there should be a Palestinian renaissance as soon as possible responding to the Palestinian demands and the Arab Islamic renewed reality in order to form the strongest Palestinian Arab and Islamic unity face all the challenges.
