FM Liberman
condemns Iranian VP for anti-Semitic speech
Communicated by Foreign Minister’s
Bureau

Deputy
Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Avigdor
Liberman said that the fact that representatives of the UN
and European states still attend conferences held in Tehran,
where antisemitic remarks of the worst type are made,
legitimizes the regime of the ayatollahs in Iran, which
represents a real threat to world peace.
FM Liberman was reacting to an antisemitic speech
made by Iranian Vice-President Mohammad-Reza Rahimi at an
international antidrug conference in Tehran. Liberman said
that the Iranian regime is not composed of crazy people, but
of antisemitic fanatics who have a very ordered world view
and a detailed plan, the central part of which, as they
declare openly, is the destruction of the State of
Israel.
The international community
does not sufficiently comprehend the great danger posed by
the Iranian regime to world peace. Hitler, too, reminded
Liberman, said “crazy” things and succeeded in carrying
out his plan. Today, the situation is different, and the
sovereign state of Israel will not permit any Jew to be
harmed. However, as long as the international community does
not reconsider its attitude, and as long as the
ayatollahs’ rule does not come to an end, this is a sure
recipe for disaster and the threat to world peace
remains.
Ends.
