PIC-- The Islamic Resistance Movement "Hamas" confirmed that the PA security services in the occupied West Bank continued its arrest and summons campaign against Hamas cadres and supporters.
PA security forces have arrested during last June 91 citizens, most of them were freed prisoners, students, and former detainees. They have also summoned dozens to their headquarters where they detained many of them, refusing to release some of them, and extended their detention, according to a report issued by Hamas media office on Monday.
PA Police Arrests
The report indicated that the detainees in the PA prisons suffer from the ongoing torture which includes shabh (tying hands and feet of the prisoner from the back for long hours) of all kinds, beatings with cables, suspension from the ceiling, flogging, kicking, cursing, in addition of being prevented from visits until the end of the investigation.
The report also revealed that eight political prisoners in PA prisons have declared an indefinite hunger strike until their immediate release, according to judicial decisions required to do so.
The report documented during June PA security services' practices in the West Bank where Hamas cadres and supporters were subjected to arrests, summonses and violations of human rights. It also documented aspects of security coordination and the exchange of roles made between the West Bank security forces and those of Israel in repressing and arresting Hamas' cadres and supporters.
The report contained an executive summary and highlighted statements and attitudes, statistical tables and graphs showing the number of detainees, their jobs, and their provinces.
