Director of the center Fouad Al-Khafsh said that doctor Qabha has been in jail for 10 years serving a sentence of 18 years on a charge of providing medical assistance to Palestinians classified as wanted by Israel.

Khafsh emphasized the need for an active role by the union of Palestinian physicians in defending Palestinian doctors in Israeli jails and keeping in touch with their families.

Doctor Amjad Qabha was married in 2001 and spent nine months with his wife before the Israeli occupation forces detained him. His wife gave birth to their only daughter Tansim while he was in prison.
