GAZA,(PIC)– The Israeli occupation authorities released, on Thursday afternoon , the head of the Palestinian Legislative Council, Dr.Aziz Dweik and Hamas leader Sheikh Jamal Al-Tawil from Ofer prison west of Ramallah.
“The occupation released Dr. Dweik and my father at the Beit Sira checkpoint in Ramallah after being transferred from Ofer prison to the mentioned checkpoint due to the outbreak of clashes near Beitunia barrier from which they were supposed to be released,” Sheikh Jamal Al-Tawil’s daughter told PIC.
She added that dozens of citizens, the detainees’ families, members of the Palestinian Legislative Council, and Palestinian national figures were in reception of the released prisoners.
For its part, the Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas congratulated the Palestinian people, the national figures, and the Palestinian detainees for the release of the symbol of Palestinian legitimacy and PLC speaker Aziz Dweik.
Hamas movement confirmed in a statement that the continued detention of PLC members is a flagrant violation of the international law and conventions, insisting that the Palestinian people will remain faithful to their commanders, his legislative deputies, and his brave prisoners until liberation.
Boshra Al-Tawil, Sheikh Jamal Al-Tawil’s daughter, confirmed that Hamas movement shared the Palestinian people’s joy for the release of PLC speaker Dr. Aziz Dweik, calling on the Palestinian people and national activists for more support for the Palestinian prisoners’ issue.
