Man arrested in D.C. ricin scare 17 Apr 2013 Kenneth Curtis of Mississippi has been arrested for sending poisonous letters to Sen. Roger Wicker and President Barack Obama. According to the FBI, the suspect was arrested at his home in Corinth, Mississippi. (Wires)
 
Kenneth Curtis of Tupelo arrested in connection with ricin letters 17 Apr 2013 Federal sources have confirmed to The Clarion-Ledger that Kenneth Curtis of Tupelo has been arrested in connection with letters laced with ricin that were sent to Sen. Roger Wicker and President Barack Obama. Federal authorities were in Tupelo on Wednesday investigating the letters. Both letters were signed: "I am KC and I approve this message." Agents with the Secret Service and the FBI used the Lee County Sheriff's Department as a staging area for their investigation.
 
FBI has images of two persons of interest in Boston bombings, source says 17 Apr 2013 A federal law enforcement source told Fox News that investigators are looking for two men that are persons of interest in Monday's Boston Marathon terror attack and have distributed photos for "law enforcement eyes only." The FBI is not sharing the photos with the public. A Fox News reporter has seen the photos and called them "clear." According to the reporter, one of the men has a backpack that appears to match the bag believed to have been used in the attack. The other man also appears to have a bag of some kind.
 
Image shows suspect carrying, perhaps dropping, black bag --At Boston Medical Center, 19 patients now remain hospitalized 17 Apr 2013 An official briefed on the Boston Marathon bombing investigation said today that authorities have an image of a suspect carrying, and perhaps dropping, a black bag at the second bombing scene on Boylston Street, outside of the Forum restaurant. Investigators are "very close" in the investigation, said the official, who declined to be named. The same official also said a surveillance camera at Lord & Taylor, located directly across the street, has provided clear video of the area, though it was unclear whether the image of the suspect was taken from that camera.
 
Interfaith prayer to honor bombing victims Thursday 17 Apr 2013 An interfaith prayer service to honor the victims of the Boston Marathon bombings will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Cathedral of the Holy Cross on Washington Street in Boston’s South End. President Obama and Michelle Obama will attend the service, called "Healing Our City." Invited guests will include victims’ families, first responders, medical personnel, government officials, business leaders, and others.
 
Boston courthouse evacuated following bomb threat 17 Apr 2013 Workers have returned to a Boston federal courthouse that was evacuated because of a bomb threat amid reports of a breakthrough in the marathon bombings investigation. Nikki Credic-Barrett, a spokeswoman for the U.S. Marshals Service in Washington, says a security sweep was conducted because of the bomb threat. Court workers got back inside the building about an hour after the evacuation.
 
US to deploy 200 troops to Jordan over Syria war: minister 17 Apr 2013 The United States plans to deploy 200 troops in Jordan because of "the deteriorating situation" [fomented by CIAciopaths] in war-torn Syria, Information Minister Mohammad Momani said on Wednesday. "The deployment of the troops is part of US-Jordanian military cooperation to boost the Jordanian armed forces in light of the deteriorating situation in Syria," Momani told AFP. He did not say when the troops were scheduled to arrive in Jordan.
 
In blow to gun control backers, background check compromise falls 6 votes short 17 Apr 2013 Despite an impassioned push by President Barack Obama and an emotional lobbying effort by the families of mass shooting victims, proponents of a compromise measure to expand gun background checks on Wednesday fell six votes short of passage in the Senate. The vote on the amendment was 54 to 46. Sixty votes were needed for the amendment to be adopted. The measure would have extended existing background check rules to gun sales made online and at gun shows.
 
Texas Prosecutor Shooting Suspect Charged With Murder 17 Apr 2013 Texas police said a woman they arrested in connection with the slaying of the Kaufman County District Attorney, his wife and another prosecutor confessed to her involvement and said it was her husband who shot the three. Kim Williams, 46, was arrested today and charged with capital murder in connection with the killings of District Attorney Mike McLelland, Cynthia McLelland, and Assistant District Attorney Mark Hasse, according to a warrant affidavit released by the Kaufman County Sheriff's Office. She’s being held on $10 million bond, the office said in a statement.
