Hunger Striking Captives Suffer Difficult Conditions In Israeli Hospitals

NABLUS, (PIC)-- The hunger striking prisoners at the Soroka Hospital asserted that the conditions of their detention in Israeli hospitals increase their suffering as the Israeli authorities adopts various methods to pressure them.

Palestinian Prisoners' Society (PPS) said in a statement that its lawyer visited the captives at Soroka Hospital, and asserted that their situation is extremely serious.

It added that the prisoners are demanding to return to Ramle prison clinic due to the methods of repression against them in the Israeli hospital.

There are 12 jailers and officers in the striking prisoners' room, they deliberately eat and drink before the hunger strikers in attempt to exert psychological pressure on them.

The two Jordanian captives Munir Mar'i and Alaa Hammad, who have been on hunger strike since May 2, said that their suffering continues for the 24 hours and that even at night the jailers prevent them from sleeping.

The prisoners have also been handcuffed all the day, which has aggravated their suffering and caused them more health problems.
