Coordinator for Cyber Issues Christopher Painter Heads the U.S. Delegation to the Global Conference on Cyberspace in The Hague

April 16–17, 2015, the Netherlands will host the fourth Global Conference on Cyberspace (GCCS) in The Hague. The conference will bring together stakeholders of various backgrounds from governments, the private sector, and civil society in order to promote practical cooperation in cyberspace, augment cyber capacity building globally, and discuss norms for responsible behavior in cyberspace.

As part of this year’s conference, the Netherlands will launch the Global Forum on Cyber Expertise (GFCE). The GFCE is an informal and voluntary platform for nations, corporations, and international organizations to discuss and coordinate cyber capacity building projects. It offers an opportunity to expand the group of likeminded partners and to better coordinate and leverage existing expertise and resources.

The U.S. delegation will be led by Christopher Painter, U.S. Department of State Coordinator for Cyber Issues, and will include representatives from the Bureau of Economic and Business Affairs' Office of International Communications and Information Policy (EB/CIP), Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor (DRL), the Department of Homeland Security, Department of Justice, and the Department of Treasury.
