Rotary Appeal For Cyclone Winston

Rotary Appeal For Cyclone Winston

Rotary New Zealand is appealing for funds to support our Neighbours in Fiji following the devastation from Cyclone Winston.

714 Rotary Emergency Response Kits prepositioned at three locations in Fiji are being dispatched to affected areas. In addition Rotary New Zealand arranged for Family Food Packs (week supply for family of four) to be pre packed in Fiji prior to the Cyclone passing through and these too are being distributed.

Rotary will be collaborating with the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs Emergency Task Force and the Fiji Disaster Management Office to ensure that the Emergency Response Kits and Food Packs are directed for best possible advantage to those affected. Rotary Fiji providing logistical support.

The appeal funds will be used for the payment of Emergency Response Kits and Family Food Packs but may also support families rebuild their homes and re-establish their vegetable gardens in addition to health and education issues.

New Zealand Disaster Response practitioners are also on standby to go to Fiji to specifically assist Rotary.
