Ministers Issue Joint Statement
Issued by the 2016 APEC Ministerial Meeting
Lima, Peru, 18 November 2016 – Facing stagnated trade and rising scrutiny of globalization, Ministers from the 21 APEC member economies concluded the 2016 APEC Ministerial Meeting on Friday in Lima by issuing a Joint Statement on driving quality and inclusive growth, and human development in an open, integrated Asia-Pacific.
The Joint Statement describes collaborative policy solutions to be implemented by APEC economies in the following areas: strengthening regional economic integration that improves job creation and living standards; enhancing the regional food market; modernizing small businesses; and developing human capital.

The 2016 APEC Ministerial Meeting was co-chaired by Peru’s Foreign Minister Ricardo Luna and Minster of Foreign Trade and Tourism Eduardo Ferreyros. It will be followed by the continuation of the 2016 APEC CEO Summit on 19 November and the culminating 2016 APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting on 20 November.
